The POLO1 pick for ‘Player of The Year’ is Adolfo Cambiaso.
He started 2025 as the MPV of Whitney Cup in Florida last February. It was his 10th Whitney trophy, and his horse Dolfina Carola won Best Playing Pony.
In April, he turned 50 and racked up his 10th U.S. Open title beating his son Poroto 12 to 8. It was a payback from 2024 when Poroto beat his father in the Open final.
In July it was on to the UK and the British Open. Cambiaso and his daughter Mia beat Kazak 9-8 at Cowdray Park for his 9th Gold Cup crown.
The fall season in Argentina was dominated by Adolfo and a 40-goal team comprised of his son and two nephews. His 16th Hurlingham championship was a 12-9 triumph over UAE.
At Tortugas he nailed victory number seven with a one goal win against longtime rival Ellerstina with the Heguys riding with the Pieres brothers.
In the Argentine Open they had to take on Ellerstina again. Adolfo notched his 19th title at The Cathedral and he’s now one step closer to Juan Carlos Harriott’s record of 20.
It was an exceptional year for Adolfo Cambiaso capturing the World Triple Crown as well as his 5th Argentine Triple Crown. Unrelenting he has already committed to defending his trove titles again in 2026.
